Welcome back to another story about our lovely Jolade, she is having the time of her life around Lagos, and I love it for her. She enjoys juggling having amazing sex with Kola and Boluwatife, both of them don’t know each other, and she likes it that way. Keep them separate but equal, am I right?

But she hasn’t found love yet, and the Chief isn’t pleased; she is, after all, a young Yoruba woman, but she doesn’t care about love; she wants to be wicked and collect strokes. Her father, the Chief, has given her an ultimatum, she is to find a husband within the year, or he will cut her off his accounts.

Jolade is a smart woman who has her own money, but nothing is sweeter than spending daddy’s money; she is getting serious with Boluwatife. She would rather be with him, but Boluwatife doesn’t buy the idea of settling down.

Jolade has tried to get him to propose or even meet his parents, and he was getting tired of the whole nagging from her; she could sense he was getting tired and dropped it. She can’t be with Kola for obvious reasons, she was a high-maintenance babe, and he can’t afford to be with her.

So our Jolade has two choices, either she finds a way for Boluwatife to propose, or she gets cut off from her daddy. Well, let’s find out what she chooses.

Jolade and Boluwatife are having dinner together that Sunday night; she suggested it to him since it had been forever they had a date night. They had to reconnect because she felt Boluwatife was losing interest in the whole relationship. He reluctantly agreed, and she booked a reservation at a restaurant on the island. She left him specific instructions to be there by 8.

She and a friend Angie went around Lagos that morning, looking for a dress for her to wear on the date; she had her hair and nails done the day before and had somehow forgotten she was supposed to buy a dress. Checking her wardrobe, she saw no dress worthy of that night and had texted her friend in a frenzy to come with her to get a dress.

She didn’t follow the Chief to church that morning and had stormed off in the car with Tayo at the wheel, much at the Chief’s disapproval. Jolade and Angie bought her dress at a store of one of Angie’s friends. It was a very lovely dress, very slutty, heavy on the slutty. (How about I leave this dress to your imagination, imagine the sluttiest dress ever, that is the dress Jolade picked.

Angie and Jolade drove back home with Angie wishing Jolade a lovely date and promised to check on her later that night. Jolade couldn’t hold her excitement; she rushed inside her room with the dress in a bag to see if the rest of the outfit would go with the dress.

She opened up a bottle of wine to sip as she played dress-up; she stood in front of the mirror and giggled.

“Boluwatife doesn’t know what is about to hit him. Just look at me,” Jolade shouted and sipped from the glass in her hand. “I look so fucking gorgeous.”

She walked over to her phone at her dressing table and dialed Boluwatife’s number; it rang twice before she hung up.

“Ugh, He must be in church or doing something else” she sighed and dropped her phone. She was walking back to her mirror when her phone vibrated.

“Yay,” she giggled and rang back to the phone.

She saw Kola’s name on the screen and groaned; what does he want now, she thought.

“Hello,” she said as she sat on the floor to talk to him.

“Hello Jolade, how are you doing?” Kola asked her.

“I am doing very well” she took a sip.

“I am fine, thanks for asking” Kola chuckled.

“Sorry my bad” Jolade rolled her eyes.

“You must be wondering why I called you.”

“No, I am not.”

“Well, I am calling to say I miss you. It has been a while you came by here.”

“Kola, I have been busy with work,” Jolade said. “I have no time to worry about things like that.”

“You mean you have no time for me.”

“What does that mean Kola?” Jolade asked him.

“You and that Boluwatife guy have been having a relationship haven’t you?”

“Kola, what I do is none of your concern and how do you know about that?”

“So it is true.”

“Yes, Kola it is true, what do you want from me, I have a lot of things I’m doing,” Jolade said, almost frustrated.

“Jolade, I care about you a lot, the sex with you is amazing but I want more. Jolade I want to be the man in your life again.”

Jolade spat out the wine in her mouth and gave a hearty laugh. “Kola, what are you talking about, I have no time for feelings please. If it’s about sex, we can keep having it but a relationship with you, I don’t think so.”

“Jolade, come on. You know I will love you more than he does.”

“Kola, this conversation is over please, I have things to get back to. Thanks for the call.”

“Jolade, just wait-”

Jolade hung up the phone and sighed. “This man doesn’t know when to give up” she stood from where she sat and proceeded to take off her dress.

She got in bed and slept off before Chief returned from church and came to scold her for not going to church with him.

That evening, she got dressed in haste and said goodnight to her father before she left the house.

“Where are you going young lady?” Chief asked her when she walked into his living room in her dress.

“On a date Daddy” she giggled and walked over to his table to give him a kiss, the eldest of her brothers Matthew was with the Chief.

“Jolade, who is this date you speak of?” Her brother asked her.

“Oh, it’s just this young man she has been seeing,” the Chief said.

“Let me guess, you set her up with him” Matthew gave his dad a knowing look.

“Well, I couldn’t afford for her to be seen about with that teacher.”

“While you two are talking about me like I’m not here, I will be on the way to my date,” Jolade said, “By the way Matthew, what are you doing here, how is Jumoke and the kids?”

“They are all fine, I have some business to settle with daddy and I will get going.” Matthew said.

“Okay cool, goodnight Daddy. Matthew I will see you later” Jolade bade them goodnight and left her father’s living room.

She hurried to the car where Tayo was waiting for her.

“Aunty Jolade, you are looking very beautiful today,” Tayo complimented her.

“Thank you Tayo, please start the car,” Jolade said and got into the back of the car.

Jolade gave Tayo the address of the restaurant, and off they went. In the car she dialed Boluwatife’s number and this time she let it ring more than two times, he still didn’t pick up, and he hasn’t called her back since morning. She sighed and looked out the window while saying a silent prayer for his night to go well.

Tayo pulled up in front of the restaurant by 7:45 pm that evening, before Jolade got out of the car She gave him instructions to go back home.

“But how will you get back home?” Tayo asked her.

“If this night goes according to plan, there is no need for me to come home tonight.” Jolade smirked at Tayo in the rear-view mirror.

“Ah, aunty Jolade, I understand” Tayo smiled at her.

Jolade left the car and walked to the restaurant, a waiter showed her to her table, and she requested a glass of wine to calm her nerves before Boluwatife arrived.

She sat at their table and waited for Boluwatife to show up. After fifteen minutes, she already had two glasses of wine, and Boluwatife hadn’t shown up yet; she tried calling. She also tried texting him, but she got no response; Jolade was getting frustrated.

By 8:30, he still hadn’t shown up; she downed the remaining wine in the bottle and sighed, what the hell was going on. The waiter came to her table and asked if she wanted to eat now; she said she wasn’t hungry anymore and asked for another bottle of wine.

The waiter went on his way to get her another glass, and Jolade went back to her phone to continue dialing Boluwatife’s number.

“At what point do you plan to stop drinking tonight?” a voice said at the table.

“Ugh go away,” Jolade groaned at the stranger who had sat on a chair in front of her.

“I can’t do that, you are obviously angry”

“And how is that your business” Jolade said and looked up to see the man talking to her. She gasped as she saw him.

He was drop-dead gorgeous, and he smelled so good it took all she had not to leap at him and tear his clothes apart.

“I am just trying to be helpful” he smiled at her.

“Well, I don’t see how you can be of any help” Jolade dropped her phone on the table.

“I just hate to see a pretty woman like you get stood up,” he said.

“And do you know I got stood up?” Jolade eyed him; the waiter came to the table with her wine.

“I saw you come in, you were so excited and now here you are on your second bottle,” he said.

“Look, do you want to drink with me or not?” Jolade said as she poured wine into her glass.

“Sure, pour me one too.”

“So who are you?” Jolade said as she poured him a glass.

“I am Ayoola” he took a sip of the wine.

My God, Jolade thought, he drinks so sexy; I wish I was the wine glass.

“Ayoola, hmm sounds like a Yoruba demon” she smirked at him.

“My reputation precedes me” Ayoola smiled at her. “Trust me ma’am I do not break hearts.”

“Well Mister Ayoola, nice to meet you. I am Jolade.”

“Nice to meet you Jolade” He downed his glass and smiled at her. “So who was the man who dared to stand you up tonight.”

“I don’t want to talk about it, I just want to go home and sleep,” Jolade said and signaled to the waiter to get the bill.

“I can understand that,” Ayoola said.

The waiter brought the bill, and Jolade was about to reach into her purse for her card when Ayoola spoke.

“Put that on my tab,” Ayoola said to the waiter, and he left their table.

“Thank you very much Ayoola, I have to go home now,” Jolade said and stood up from her seat. She left him at the table and walked to the door. She was sure Ayoola was looking at her as she walked away; I mean, who wouldn’t.

She got outside and took out her phone to call Tayo to come to pick her up,

“Don’t tell me you are about to call your driver to come take you home,” Ayoola said beside her.

“You have to stop doing that. You almost startled me.” Jolade shouted.

“My bad, I am so sorry” Ayoola apologized.

“It’s fine. Besides, what is wrong in that?”

“With what?” Ayoola angled his brows at her.

“Calling my driver to come pick me up.”

“Oh nothing, it’s just that the night is young, there are other fun things to do,” Ayoola said.

“Oh like what?” Jolade smirked at him.

“My friends are holding a party, why don’t you come with me?”

“Hmmm follow a stranger to a party or go home, get some sleep in time for work tomorrow,” Jolade thought out loud.

“Come on, I won’t hurt you I promise it will be over by 12, then I can get you a hotel to spend the night,” Ayoola said.

“I have nothing to do at home so it sounds fun,” Jolade said, “I will need the address though, I have to text my brother of my whereabouts.”

“Oh cool, I understand. My car is just over there,” Ayoola said.

They both walked to his car, and Jolade’s phone rang in her hand; it was Boluwatife calling.

“Aren’t you going to get that?” Ayoola said to her.

“No,” Jolade said.

They got to his car and Ayoola held the door for Jolade to get in.

“Might I say you look really gorgeous tonight,” Ayoola said and looked into her eyes and closed the car door.

Jolade blushed in her seat while Ayoola got into his seat beside her. She could hear the Chief’s voice in her head saying she was doing something reckless

“Shall we?” Ayoola asked as he buckled himself in his seat.

Oh yes, we shall, fine man, yes we shall.
